KITING IN DIANI BEACH – KENYA
Diani Beach in Kenya is a farely uncrowded but beautiful kitespot with a long beach stroke. Protected by a reef when low tide , the water close to shore can be butter flat with nice waves in between.
If you are not comfortable with the breaks on the reef, you can just ride in the easy conditions close to the kiteschool Kenyaways. There is plenty of space to launch or land.
If you are keen to explore other spots outside the bay you can find amazing spots with great conditions all around the Galu área.
WIND, WEATHER AND WATER
The wind won t let you down in Kenya, with southeast trade winds blowing from Southern Africa. Expect consistent and smooth wind conditions around 15-18knots from December till early March. Come in June till September if you want more gusty power with also bigger waves. Most kiters come around December, January and February, but it never gets really crowded.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
In Kenya the wildlife is never far away. Safari trips are therefor an ideal combination with a kitesurf Holiday. But if you are a beach bum, then there are plenty of other water activities like SUPing or snorkeling
Food and drinks are near the beach or in the close by town of Diani. (10min drive) The town can have a pretty lively nightlife. Town is relatively safe but it is good to stay focused.
